Visited the Casa del Balam in late February

My husband and I visited the Casa del Balam in late February, just in time for last day of Carnival.

The parade passed right in front of the hotel on Calle 60 and we were delighted to participate in from the comfort of the hotel entrance while drinking ice cold cervezas. This hotel has an old world charm which we immediately fell in love with. It is in the heart of the city and has easy access to all great restaurants of central Mérida. We went to Los Almendros for dinner and had some of what Yucatan has to offer, all very affordable.

We returned to the hotel and sat by the pool bar to have some good margaritas and savour the tranquility of the hotel. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable.

The morning arrived and we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and found both service and food what we expected. Our only regret in this visit was our stay was not long enough.

More than one night is required to really appreciate what this hotel and Merida has to offer.
